In Singapore, pet cremation comes in two forms: private (individual) and companion (communal). Each differs in one critical way: whether your pet is alone in the cremation chamber and whether ashes are returned to you.

Private cremation means your pet enters the chamber alone. No partitions. No other animals. The process is entirely exclusive to your pet from start to finish, and the ashes that come back to you belong only to them. This mirrors the standards applied to human cremation. Across Singapore, private pet cremation typically ranges from $230 to $680+ depending on breed and weight.

Companion cremation is different. Your pet is cremated alongside other animals, and ashes are scattered at sea rather than returned. This service is available for pets up to 40kg. It is the most affordable option but does not allow family attendance or the return of remains.

Every private cremation at Sanctuary Pet Cremation covers the collection of your pet from your home or veterinary clinic, a private memorial service at the Rainbow Bridge Service Hall, the private cremation of your pet alone in the chamber, a printed portrait photo on display at the service hall, a bouquet of flowers for you to creatively and personally place on your pet, ash placement into the Sanctuary urn and digital cremation certificate. Your family can attend every stage at no additional charge.

Pricing follows five tiers based on breed and weight.

• Small animals, including chinchillas, fish, guinea pigs, parrots, rabbits, and tortoises.
• Cats and small breed dogs under 10kg, among them Chihuahua, Maltese, Pomeranian, Poodle, and Shih Tzu.
• Medium-breed dogs from 10kg to 20kg such as Beagles, Border Collies, Corgis, and French Bulldogs.
• Large breed dogs from 20kg to 30kg including Chow Chows, Golden Retrievers, and Samoyed dogs
• Extra large breed dogs from 30kg to 40kg such as Boxers, Dalmatians and German Shepherds.
• Giant breed dogs from 40kg to 50kg such as Bullmastiff, Doberman and Rottweiler.
• For animals above 40kg, private cremation is the only available option.

There are optional items available for purchase that pet owners can choose from to honor their pet. Optional urns besides our standard Sanctuary Urn are available including paw prints made of clay and keepsakes to hold fur as well as a small portion of ashes. Finally, there is also a selection available to choose from for nose print and ash-infused jewellery.

3. The ash picking room is where many families find the moment of real closure. After the cremation, you are invited to participate personally in the placement of your pet's ashes into the Sanctuary urn. This practice is honoured across Asian cultures and is one of the most meaningful parts of the Sanctuary experience. It is not a requirement, but it is always available.
